Privacy & data protection

Employ.mu is operated by Innerverse Ltd, a data controller under the Mauritius Data Protection Act 2017. Payroll and work-history data are sensitive personal data and are handled with least-privilege access controls.

What we store

Employee identity (national ID encrypted at rest and masked in the interface), employment terms, computed payroll lines, leave records, and — for self-employed users — income records. Documents (sick certificates, statements) live in private storage accessible only by time-limited signed links.

Who can see what

Your employer sees the data needed to run your payroll. You see everything about yourself, forever, across employers. Nobody else sees anything without your explicit consent — sharing happens only through scoped, expiring links that you create and can revoke, and every consented view is logged and visible to you.

Your rights

You can export all data about you as a machine-readable file from your workspace at any time, request correction of inaccurate records, and withdraw consent grants immediately. Contactus for any data-protection request.

What we never do

We do not sell personal data. We do not send your data to public AI models. We do not expose income histories to any third party — including financial institutions — without your explicit, logged, revocable consent.
