Terms of service
Last updated 30 September 2026
These terms apply to your use of Employ.mu (the service). The service is operated by Innerverse Ltd, a company in Mauritius ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you use the service for a company, you confirm you may act for that company.
1. The service
Employ.mu is software for employers to prepare payroll, payslips and statutory files, keep employee and leave records, plan rosters and events, and give workers access to their own records. The features available to you depend on your plan and the modules your company has switched on.
2. Accounts and roles
- You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details safe and for what is done with your account.
- A company has an owner. The owner decides who else has access and with what role (for example admin, payroll or viewer) and can remove access at any time.
- An accountant or bureau invited by the owner with the payroll role can work on that company's payroll. They act for the company and see only the companies that have invited them.
- A worker has their own account for their own records. It is separate from any employer.
3. What the employer is responsible for
- The accuracy of the information entered or imported, including pay terms, dates, contribution status and identity details.
- Reviewing each payroll run and approving it. Approval is the employer's decision.
- Paying wages and submitting returns. The service prepares files; it does not pay wages, hold funds or submit returns on your behalf.
- Confirming that the statutory rates used for a run are the ones that apply to you before the run is finalised.
4. What the service does not do
- It does not give legal, tax or accounting advice, and it does not decide whether a person is an employee or a contractor.
- Downloading or preparing a file does not mean it has been accepted by an authority, signed, filed or paid.
- Figures are calculated from published rates and the information provided to the service. Check them before relying on them.
5. Fees
Fees are those in the price list on our pricing page when you subscribe, and change only by a published revision that applies from its stated date. Setup, migration and other work outside the standard service are quoted separately and agreed before they start. Prices are shown before value-added tax where it applies.
6. Your data
You keep ownership of the data you put into the service. We process it to provide the service, as described in theprivacy page. Employers and workers each have the rights described there, including export and correction. Records of approved payroll are kept and are not overwritten; a correction is a new record that keeps the original.
7. Acceptable use
Do not use the service unlawfully, try to access another company's or person's data, interfere with the service or its security, or enter information you have no right to use. We may suspend access that breaks these terms or puts the service or others at risk, and we will tell the account owner why.
8. Availability and changes
We work to keep the service available but do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change the service. If we change these terms in a way that matters to you, we will tell the account owner before the change applies.
9. Ending the service
You can stop using the service at any time. The owner can ask for an export of the company's data. Some records, such as approved payroll, may have to be kept after that for as long as the law requires.
10. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the law of Mauritius. Subject to that, we are responsible for the service as provided and not for decisions you make on the basis of figures you have not checked.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Mauritius, and the courts of Mauritius have jurisdiction over any dispute about them.
